Hardraw Force Heritage Center
Designed by D M T the main structure was completed in 2010 using local builders and materials; it was featured by the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority in their recent Best New Building Award publication.
We hope to open a new information resource in 2012/13 (see articles: YDS Review) along with the 1816 Gallery which will feature contemporary art, paintings, sculpture and ceramics.
Photographs show the site prior and during construction and part of the gallery underfloor heating installation.
Waterfall and Woodlands Walk
Hardraw Force England’s Highest Single Drop Waterfall is set in fifteen acres of woodland. In the late 1800′s the Lord Wharncliffe constructed a series of pathways (some paved with local stone) and bridges linking the Inn, Waterfall, the upper Shaw Gill Falls and his Simonstone Hall Shooting Lodge. Four of these pathways are on our land and we are in the process of restoring them to their former glory.
